I was taught my whole life that if I wanted freedom, I needed to:

Sell my time
Invest in assets like real estate to get rental income
And once I had a few rental incomes, at 65 or 70, I could finally retire.
Wow, what a life…

Age isn’t the issue—it’s about having the rental incomes.
I realized I didn’t need to work in a job I hated for the next 40 years, then retire when I’m old and tired. I could do it faster with Airbnb units and Airbnb income.
- STEP 1: Locally In my City - I would Lease Places From Landlords
- STEP 2: I would spend my own money or take on debt to furnish the place
- STEP 3: I would make a higher amount hosting on Airbnb compared to the monthly fees

- STEP 5: Rinse and Repeated for more units and I was making a million dollars doing just this.
But very soon, I realized this model came with a ton of problems that I just couldn’t ignore...
- High Cost: The cost to get new Airbnb units and setting them up all by myself was heavy. With each new unit, costs piled up faster than I could manage. Managing rent, utility bills, housekeepers, and inventory became a headache. One bad month from a few units and the costs would pile up super quick - and everything fell on my shoulders.
- TIME Commitment and Hard Work: Setting Up each unit and making constant physical trips to the places and making late night last minute runs to fix things was tiring.
- Quality Control: Maintaining consistent quality while juggling many responsibilities was difficult. Something always slipped through the cracks, causing major issues.
- Inventory Management: Managing towels, cleaning supplies, and housekeeping schedules for each unit was becoming nearly impossible.
The Mindset That Kept Me Stuck
But even after realizing this, I was stuck in the old-school mindset of making money. And I’m not alone—99% of Airbnb hosts make this mistake.
They think they can only succeed by either:

I remember the day like it was yesterday—It was a Sunday morning.
I was seating at the kitchen table sipping my morning coffee and flipping through channels on the tv.
And then out of nowhere there it was, BAM!
My city had passed new regulations banning anyone from managing more than one Airbnb.
I completely froze.
Just like that, my business model was dead.
All my hard work, the 12-hour days, the financial risk—it was about to be wiped out overnight.
I had over 20 Airbnb units at the time… and it was about to all disappear.
